SENIOR LIVING MANAGEMENT FIRM, SILVERWAVE, EXPANDS EXECUTIVE TEAM WITH ADDITION OF INDUSTRY VETERAN FRANK WEHR
Silverwave, an Austin, Texas-based senior living management firm with decades of experience in third-party management, consulting services and asset management, today announced the addition of three-decade industry veteran, Frank Wehr, as Partner and Chief Operating Officer.
Wehr has over 35 years of experience in the senior living industry, leading operations for highly respected operators and overseeing the acquisition and turnaround of over 150 properties across the U.S.
Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer for Artis Senior Living where he led the growth of the assisted living and memory care portfolio from a single facility to a network of 27 locations across 11 states within a seven-year span. In that role, Wehr refined operational systems and successfully led the team through pandemic operations. He provided leadership to both field and corporate support teams comprising 1,300 employees. Wehr’s additional experience includes the role of Chief Operating Officer for Rittenhouse Senior Living. Through collaboration with private equity investors, they acquired distressed properties and developed innovative independent living, assisted living and memory care properties.
Previously, Wehr founded Performance Senior Living with the strategic vision of acquiring and reviving distressed assisted living properties. In addition to successful acquisitions of multiple properties, he led their team to achieving 97-percent occupancy rates at the communities prior to their sale. The company also provided senior housing marketing and operations consultancy services to external providers.
Prior to founding Performance Senior Living, Wehr held the titles of Vice President of Senior Living for Genesis Health Ventures and Regional Director of Operations at Manor Healthcare Corporation where he opened the first wave of Arden Courts on the east coast.
“We are thrilled to have Frank join our exceptional leadership team and bring his wealth of industry experience, knowledge, and insight to our third-party management team,” Katie Kleinsmith, Founder and CEO of Silverwave. “Frank and I have worked together in multiple settings throughout our careers and there is no one more committed to providing a great living environment for seniors. As a previous owner himself, he is keenly aware of what is needed to make each community a success and is sensitive to the financial and regulatory constraints owners are currently facing. Frank’s leadership style and personal approach to ensuring that our teams have the tools to provide outstanding care has always resonated with me. I am happy to be collaborating with him again.”
